Thanks to the vision of owners, general management and the employees teamwork of Tabacon Grand Spa Thermal Resort, after a recent audit conducted by the Costarrican Tourism Board (ICT), the company has received the fourth level in the Certification of Sustainable Tourism (CST) by increasing the level it was previously.
This certification serves as an incentive given to hotels that develop eco-friendly practices with a large component of social responsibility. The classification depends on the percentage of positive actions that the company is developing in the area of sustainability, under strict assessment criteria that are verified through an official inspection in which tourism companies are evaluated according to four ethical standards:
1. Biological physical parameter (natural habitat)
2. Infrastructure and services (evaluation of policies and operating systems)
3. External clients (invitation and participation of guests)
4. Socio-economic (direct and indirect benefit to the local community)
